Queens Campus Stroll | Cassie + Mike

It’s time for a Queens campus stroll with Cassie and Mike! This is a fun one. You see, I’ve known Mike for a while now through our local mountain bike club. We ride together and have post ride beers by the campfire on our weekly Friday night rides. Kinda funny, I’ve never really seen him without a helmet on and a sweaty bike jersey. OK, that’s not totally true, but a tight hairdo and nice clothes was a little outside of the sphere of our usual hangouts! Not to mention his lovely bride to be by his side. I always tell new couples how important engagement shoots are so that we can get to know each other. Well, even though I already know Mike and even met Cassie a few times, I was getting to know them all over again in a new way. I got to see how they interact as a couple, the things that make them laugh, the things that make them smile. It’s always super fun for me to watch these things unfold in front of my lens and on the flip side, it’s fun figuring out ways to nudge laughter, smiles and the odd caress. They nailed all of that. Now I know a different side of this couple and I’m so excited for them as they move towards their next milestone.

Both Queen’s grads, it made sense to go for a saunter on Queens campus, their old stomping grounds, looking for cool light and interesting architecture. As we meandered the limestone campus, they told me stories of their days at Queen’s as we passed by faculty buildings and residence halls where they spent their days. I just love a history lesson! Of course, being so close to the lake, we had to pop down for a few lakeside sunset shots. It was cold, it was windy and the May flies were abound! Luckily, the goosebumps don’t show up in the photos and the light looked very warm. In 5 years they’ll look back on these photos and probably forget the frozen toes and sniffly noses, but they’ll remember exactly how much fun they had together in those moments. Those are the important moments. Happy Trails 🙂
