Fun. If I had to pick a word to describe Jessica and Eric’s Portsmouth Olympic Harbour wedding, it would be fun. From the moment I arrived at the hotel to photograph the guys getting ready, to the moment I arrived at Jessica and Eric’s house for the girls prep, right on through to the hard core dance floor shaking, it was super duper fun. So much laughing. So much joking around. So much love between family and friends and friends who are like family. The bride and groom were so relaxed all day which is the key to really enjoying a wedding day. Let go and enjoy. Like, have fun!
More on fun. Obviously the prep was full of laughter and goofing around, but the smiles and laughter just kept on coming. The ceremony was conducted by Jess’ uncle which was super cool and allowed them to be at ease. They read their vows and although there might have been a few emotional tears, they were so suiting to their fun-natured personalities. I can’t remember exactly what some of the details were because I was, you know, working 😉 But, I do remember lol’ing behind the camera a few times! Once the beautiful ceremony on the patio of the Olympic Harbour wrapped up, we took off with the bridal party and made some [fun] photos along the waterfront and then ditched them for some bride and groom photos in the area as well. The funnest part of all this came when we hopped in the car and took a brief reprieve to get ice cream, downtown at Marble Slab Creamery! Jess and Eric used to go on dates there all the time, so it just made sense to do the same on their wedding day. I know right? Sooo cool!
All refreshed and with some really unique photos in the bag, we headed back to the Olympic Harbour where the reception was held. Good food, good speeches and a bangin’ party would follow. Yep, it was a pretty fun day!
