Manse Boutique Wedding | Amy + Andrew

We all know how amazing Picton is. It’s seriously beautiful no matter where you are, whether out in the wineries or right in town. In today’s edition of beautiful Picton, I present to you The Manse Boutique Inn and Spa. Amy and Andrew wanted a small wedding with their family and closest friends at a cool venue where people could just be together. They wanted room to hang out, enjoy the Picton vibe, rooms for overnighters and really just a place for people to be with each other with a loose agenda. Oh yeah, and eat good food! The Manse Boutique delivered on every level, and then some. There were 2o people at this wedding, so me staying off the radar was not an option. I walked in and was immediately welcomed as warmly as their VIP guestlist. What an honour to be given free reign among beautiful people, beautiful rooms within the venue and of course make photos of guests enjoying each other’s company on the stunning property, nestled right in the main area of downtown Picton.

So that’s the spiel on The Manse Boutique. Just go, thank me later! Let me spew some words about the emotional feels. All the feels! The love that was present on the property that day was infectious and such a delight to be around. I want to share a little story that has stuck with me to this day and something I intend to carry forward in my own life in a more conscious way. YNWA. A simple acronym that stands for “You Never Walk Alone.” This is Andrew’s family motto, so simple, yet so powerful. No matter what life deals you, no matter where you live on planet earth, you never walk alone. Now everyone is crying. Sorry not sorry! Dry your eyes and keep reading, then once you scroll through the photos you’ll see a tattoo on Andrew’s mum’s wrist, YNWA. Dad’s got one too…let’s all get one! This is the definition of family and the story warms my heart. I got to walk with them on this wedding day and make some images that will bring them back to what a special time it was.

In my photography I am addicted to moments, the unplanned stuff, big smiles, uncontrollable emotion, quiet conversation and even loud laughter. I love showing the connection between guests and the community of friends and the closeness of family. As I scrolled through these images a thousand times trying to come up with some words that do the photos justice, all I can think of is just that. Friends that are family and family that are friends. Now, watch your toes, I’m about to drop the mic!

See the tattoo?! YNWA. There are some subtle details in this simple image that make my heart sing. Two mums putting the finishing details on the ceremony decor, laughing and enjoying the sunshine. And, a band-aided up thumb from DIY floral arranging the night before. Ah-mazing!
