Kingston Elopement | Alida + Ryan

A Kingston elopement. Sounds nice doesn’t it? Well it was! When you hear the word elopement, the first thing that comes to mind is some exotic location in some far off land. Kingston could be that place if you lived somewhere else. But what if you do live in Kingston? It’s a beautiful, historic city with amazing scenery everywhere you look. So, elope in your own city? Damn right!

Alida and Ryan met here, live here and are planning their future here too. So, naturally, they planned their Kingston elopement down the street from their house. Easy. Beautiful. Unique. A few weeks ago I had the honour of meeting these 2 lovebirds in their apartment alongside their parents and siblings for a beer before walking across the road (literally!) for their outdoor garden ceremony. Complete with their playful dog, Charlie, the ceremony was perfect, filled with emotion and humour. They wrapped up their heartfelt vows, signed some paper work and then we strolled our lovely limestone city to make some portraits of Kingston’s newest married couple.

After an enjoyable walk around and a memory card full of spirited portraits (they seriously could not stop laughing and smiling ear to ear) we hit the pub, obviously. We finished up with a couple pints of Guinness at the Old Speckled Hen in the heart of downtown and that was that! They went for dinner with the family, and I went home to mine! It was a beautiful afternoon with awesome people and I just can’t wait for the next Kingston elopement. Who’s it gonna be?!
