Heck yeah, how’s it going?! I’m Rob…
I am a photographer. I am a snowboarder and mountain biker. I’m a father and a husband. But, most of all, I’m just a normal person – like you.
I photograph people being people, couples being couples. I am a visual storyteller and like to keep things natural and real. I like to capture interaction and love, personality and feeling. My favorite images happen when people forget I’m there. On your wedding day I am out to capture the story of the day with photos that are genuine and will bring you back to those moments for years to come, remembering how the day really felt.
Here’s a little video that elaborates on why I shoot weddings and why I love what I do.
I took every art class I could in high school, dead-set on a career in Graphic Design and then did a complete 180, getting a Kinesiology degree from the University of Western Ontario! Design was not lost though, I kept painting, airbrushing and spending lots of time in Photoshop which all eventually spilled into my interest in photography. It all started with a little Kodak, a couple lenses and the desire to make photographs that people would love but not think of shooting themselves.
I place a huge importance on my clients really knowing me as a person and vice versa. You’re going to get awesome images, no doubt, but the whole experience while creating photographs is my real goal, get to know me on facebook and Instagram!
P.S. here’s a behind the scenes video! See how I interact with people to get the shots I [we] love.
Now you know ME, let me tell you a little bit about my BUSINESS.
Wedding photography is my full time profession and I have been in business since 2010. I currently photograph about 20 wedding commissions per year and operate out of my home studio but shoot 98% on location. I value wedding photography and believe it’s one of the most important aspects of your planning, but I am absolutely cognizant of the fact that your wedding is not a photoshoot. Planning and preparedness is a big part of my job so we will spend time beforehand making sure we’ve allowed time for everything on your wish list, put it into a spreadsheet and then you leave it up to me on your wedding day! Photography might be one of the first things you think about in your planning, but I want it to be the LAST thing you think about on your wedding day.
