Sometimes travel takes you places you never imagined visiting and in my experience, those types of places can really surprise you! …and it’s not because you wouldn’t want to go there, it’s that it never crossed your mind. Oklahoma City was one of those places for me. I was greeted with 105 degrees F, humidity and sunshine! My trip allowed some time to walk about the city and I managed to grab some pretty cool photos.
There was a lot to see and the photos below show the diversity of things to see. There was a part of downtown called Bricktown which had lots of cool bars, ballpark and shops, then there was the Oklahoma City bombing memorial which was pretty intense, then the next day I hit the Myriad Botanical Gardens which were quite impressive to see.
Lastly, a cool fact about Oklahoma City for my local blog followers, it’s Joe Carter’s hometown! This fact meant that anyone who asked where I was from actually knew about Toronto (didn’t bother saying Kingston, Tdot is close enough!) and didn’t automatically assume the typical Canadian stereotypes! I even walked down Joe Carter Ave in Bricktown.
